What is ClearVew and who is it for?+
ClearVew is a Google Drive security audit tool built for IT admins and Managed Service Providers (MSPs). It connects to your Google Workspace via OAuth 2.0, scans all Shared Drives and My Drives for risky external sharing, and lets you bulk-revoke dangerous permissions in one click.
How is ClearVew different from Google Admin Console?+
Google Admin Console shows you sharing settings but gives you no way to inventory every externally shared file across your organization, score them by risk, or remediate in bulk. ClearVew specifically solves the visibility and remediation gap — showing you every file shared 'anyone with the link', every external user with edit access, and letting you fix hundreds of exposures in a single action.
What Google permissions does ClearVew need?+
ClearVew requests read access to Google Drive (drive.readonly) via OAuth 2.0 to scan file permissions. For Domain-Wide Delegation — scanning all users' My Drives — you set up a service account in Google Workspace Admin. We never store your file contents, only metadata about sharing permissions.
Is my Google Drive data stored by ClearVew?+
No. ClearVew never stores your file contents. We store only metadata about file sharing permissions (file names, permission types, risk scores) to display in your dashboard. OAuth tokens are encrypted at rest. You can disconnect and delete all data at any time from Settings.
How quickly can I run my first scan?+
Most admins complete their first scan within 5 minutes of signing up. Connect your Google Workspace via OAuth (under 2 minutes), click 'Start Scan', and ClearVew will surface all risky shares across your drives. No installation, no professional services required.
Does ClearVew work for MSPs managing multiple clients?+
Yes. The MSP plan includes a multi-tenant dashboard to manage multiple Google Workspace clients from one login, per-client PDF reporting, and delegated admin access. You can run scans, review findings, and generate compliance reports for all clients without switching accounts.
